@@kaitlynlam4488 My experience with the procedure itself was awesome because I was knocked out under anesthesia. About a week later I began to bleed extremely heavy nonstop and passing blood clots. I guess I was doing too much that day. So I called the on call doctor and I was advised to go to the ER where they will see me there. They got me all straight and told me do absolutely nothing for about a week. My follow up appointment was coming soon and that went great. No problems since and back to working out now. Never any pain at all during this entire process…just felt like menstrual cramps and weird smell from drainage from the surgery which will happen for several weeks so be prepared and have lots of pads on hand and baby wipes if you are having this procedure done.

Unfortunately HPV is a virus so it does not go away completely. The LEEP will remove the active HPV but it can recur.

If we get gradesil9 hpv vaccine immediately after leep, will the vaccine protect against the current hpv not to cause any cervical displasia in any body part in future?

Please accept my apologies for my delayed response. At times a 2nd LEEP is required but that does not have to be a bad thing. The unknown is the scary part. You now know what to expect . I am sorry that you had issues post LEEP. I hope that you discussed them & your concerns regarding the need for the 2nd procedure with your doctor.

Luckily, in most instances, Cervical Cancer is a very slow growing disease. We do Pap smears and colposcopies and LEEP procedures to detect & treat cervical abnormalities in the PRE-cancerous stage so that they do not progress to cancer. CIN I, II & III as well as Carcinoma In Situ are all PRE -cancerous conditions. So although it is scary to be told that you need further treatment, as long as you get the procedures and adhere to the recommended follow up from your doctor, you should do well.

Please notify your doctor regarding the foul smelling discharge. I prescribe a vaginal antibiotic that my patients start a week after LEEP. However, do not worry the LEEP will not cause prolapse.

I am so sorry that I failed to reply to your question when it was asked. Of course, you are thoroughly healed now.
In case others have a similar question, as I mentioned in my video, I am strict regarding pelvic rest. ..Meaning nothing in your vagina, including tampons for 6 weeks. However, external activity is fine. It should be noted that if you are bouncing around after a Colpo or LEEP, all of the medicine placed vaginally can come out so so you could notice discharge and /or old blood. Due to this I would recommend wearing a light pad or a pantiliner for a week and probably waiting 1-2 days post procedure to do strenuous workout unless your doctor recommends otherwise.

Hi, you do not have to have a vaginal cream. I do recommend using a Clindamycin antibiotic cream a week afterwards to decrease the risk of post treatment infection & I find that it helps with healing.
